She was born in Oneida on June 23, 1962, a daughter of Casmer and Joyce A. Luchsinger Faber, and graduated from VVS High School in 1980. Kathy worked at the Blue Rose Restaurant in Newport as a cook and at the Pancake House in Sylvan Beach for two seasons. The last four years she was employed with Blooms and Blossoms Flower shop in Oneida. Kathy volunteered at the Rome Rescue Mission and was very active in the Pro Life Movement.
Surviving are two sons, Christopher LaClaire of Little Falls and Joseph LaClaire of Newport; one daughter, Karen Fritsch of Lakeland, Fla.; her mother, Joyce Turk of Canastota; step-mother, Mildred Faber of Boonville; four brothers, David Faber of Volcano, Hawaii, Jim Faber of Westdale, N.Y.; Jerry Faber of Canastota; John Faber of Boonville; four sisters, Nancy Norrs of Oneida, Linda Hertz of Green Cove Springs, Fla., Judy Bielby of Rome and Janet Egnew of Boonville; one uncle, Abby Faber and aunt, Ruby Mazur; 16 cousins; 17 nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her father, Casmer in 2010; her step-father, Stanley Turk in February of 2011 and one cousin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Our Lady of Good Counsel, Verona, NY at 11 a.m. Calling hours will be Friday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at Mills Funeral Home, 301 Post St., Boonville. Interment in Boonville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Rome Rescue Mission.
