BILOXI – Ray H. Duplessie, Sr., died Sunday, Oct. 25, 1998, in Biloxi. Mr. Duplessie was a native of Killian, La., and had been a resident of the Coast since 1956. He owned and operated Gulf Coast Convalescent Home from 1956 until his retirement in 1975. He was a member of Fernwood Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and treasurer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Duplessie; and two sisters, Essie Stephens and Maude Balfontz.
Survivors include his wife, Arnedia Duplessie of Biloxi; two sons, Ray H. Duplessie Jr. of Tallahassee, Fla., and Eric Duplessie of Biloxi; a daughter, Drenda Shidler of Biloxi; and six grandchildren.
Visitation was held Tuesday evening at Riemann Funeral Home, Beauvoir Road in Biloxi, with a service following. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today in Simon Isaac Cemetery near Philadelphia, Miss.
