Died of a Heart attack at age 50. Dr. Richard Lee Peden, 50, died Sunday, August 16, 1998 in Gulfport. Dr. Peden was born in Starkville and had been a resident of Gulfport for most of his life. He began his practice in 1978 and was the owner of Primary Care Medical Center. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gulfport, where he was active with the Youth Department. He was a member of various medical organizations, including the AMA, AOA, Miss. Medical Association and Miss. Osteopathic Association, whe he co-founded. He was an Eagle Scout and was awarded the Silver Palm and Pine Burr Award. Dr. Peden served on the Board of Directors of the Mississippi Baptist Children's Village. Dr. Peden was preceded in death by his mother, Genevieve ''Genie'' McGuff Peden; and a brother, William Edwin ''Eddie'' Peden. Survivors include his wife, Alva Stephens Peden; two sons, Richard ''Ricky'' Lee Peden Jr. and William ''Bill'' A. Peden; two daughters, Ashley Peden Kremer and Alva ''Allie'' Leigh Peden; his parents, William A. and Jean B. Peden; a sister, Peggy Peden Sprabery; a brother, Bobby Peden; and a granddaughter, all of Gulfport.
