Louis served in the United States Army during Korean War. He was a trustee for many years at the New Site Baptist Church in Monett and had retired from farming and trucking and later worked for Clark Mental Health as a bus driver.
Louis is survived by his wife, along with one son: Kevin and wife Susanne of Ft. Worth, Tx; one daughter: Ann and husband David Tummons of Springfield, Mo; one brother: Henry Avondet Jr. of Monett, Mo; two sisters: Irene Henson of Pierce City, Mo and Willadean Chapman of Monett, Mo ; five grandchildren: James, William, Andrew Avondet and Clayton and Alexandra Tummons.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Albert and Edward and four sisters: Wilma Esson, Helen Wormington, Noveta Helmcamp and Henrietta Bowen.
Services will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 9, 2011, at the New Site Baptist Church in Monett. The family will receive guests beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at New Site Cemetery with Rev. Aaron Weibel officiating.
Memorial donations can be made to New Site Building Fund.
Arrangements are under the care of Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home.
