F. Lenora "Lenny" Nugent, 72, of Gilmore Street died at 7:17 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002, at Columbus Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Nugent and her husband were former co-owners of Storm Sash. She was a 45-year member of East Columbus United Methodist Church, sang in the church choir and arranged floral displays for the church. During the 1950s, she was choir director at Newbern United Methodist Church.

She was a member of Women of the Moose, American Legion Auxiliary, AmVets Auxiliary, Professional Business Women's Association and Fraternal Order of Police and a former member of Hoosier Schooners Camping Association and National Campers and Hikers Association.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Myers Funeral Service, Reed & Jewell Chapel on 25th Street, with the Rev. Randy Burton officiating. Calling will be from 11 a.m. until service time Thursday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, American Stroke Association or the American Diabetes Association.

Mrs. Nugent was born in Columbus Oct. 24, 1930, the daughter of Benjamin H. and Bessie Hawkins Petro. She married Malcolm Nugent Feb. 10, 1950, in Marion County.

Survivors include a son, Mark T. Nugent of Mira Loma, Calif.; a daughter, Rannie Sue Harden of Red Oak, Texas; a brother, Rex Petro of Columbus; grandchildren, Tonia Faulkner of Westport and Drew and Abby Nugent of Morris, Ill.; stepgrandchildren, Amanda Jessie of North Vernon and Adair Locy of Mira Loma; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on July 15, 1994; brothers, Roy, Jeral, Verlyn, Meredith and Theron Petro; and sisters, Irene McGuire and Geneva Bennett.
