Obituary from the "News-Tribune" of Duluth, Minnesota dated 25 May 1985:
Born in Mount Clemens, Michigan, he moved to Duluth in 1914 after receiving a masters degree in chemical engineering from the University of Michigan. He worked as a chemist for the former Zenith Furnace Company in Duluth before moving to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania to work for Bethlehem Steel Corporation. He returned to Duluth in 1919 and became associated with the old Messabe Iron Company in taconite development in the 1920s. He also was active in various mining properties on the Iron Range. He was a member of Saint Paul's Episcopal Church and a supporter of the Duluth Symphony Orchestra and the Duluth Playhouse.

He married Helen Elizabeth Park Williams 2 Jul 1916 in Duluth, Saint Louis, Minnesota.
