First Settler in the Western Reserve (3.3 Million acres of land which is now NE Ohio). His appointment as Judge was part of the formation of the first governmental agency in the area. In 1805 he was elected a member of the legislature of the State of Ohio.His child was the first white child born in the Western Reserve. Kingsbury was travelling east for supplies when the birth took place. The child only survived a short while. Mrs Kingsbury had become ill and the cow died cutting off the milk supply.Originally buried in Erie Street Cemetery, his body was removed January 31, 1916 and reburied in Highland Park Cemetery.
