Joseph Chevalier, for the past twenty years a resident of the town of Hoff, died at his home, Saturday, June 9th, after a short illness from cancer of the stomach. He was born in Canada March 30, 1847, and came to Pope Co., from Bathgate, No. Dak., about 20 years ago. He is survived by 13 children, and one brother, Nazareth Chevalier of this city. The funeral services were held at the Catholic Church in Clontarf on Monday forenoon at 9:30 o'clock, Rev. Fr. Kenney officiating. Interment was made in Clontarf.
