Aged Resident Dies After Long Illness
Funeral Services Held Yesterday for Mrs. Sarphine Honadle, aged 78 years
Mrs. Sarphine (Lyle) Honadle, an aged and well known resident of South Brookville, died at the home of her son, Mal Honadle on Summit St. Sunday night July 1,(1934)at 11:45 o'clock after a long illness. She was the widow of William Honadle.
Mrs. Honadle was 77 years 9 months and 29 days old, having been born in Eldred Township September 9, 1856, a daughter of Epherem and Emily Lyle. On April 13, 1874, she was married to William Honadle of Brookville by Father Wienker.
Eleven children were born to their union, nine of whom survive as follows:Mal C. of Brookville,Mary of Cool Spring, William of Windber,Frank of Rochester,N.Y., Harry of St. Michael; Edward J. of Cleveland,O.;Sarah of Boston, N.Y.;David of Erie; James at home. 29 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 2 sisters also survive-Mrs. Sue Siverd, of Brookville, and Mrs. Emma Magnas, of Brandy Camp.
The deceased was a faithful member of the Immaculate Conception Church and was held in high esteem in this community where she had lived for so many years.
Funeral services were held yesterday at nine o'clock when requiem high mass was sung by her pastor, Rev. F.J. Wagner, in Immaculate Conception Church. Interment was in the Catholic cemetery (St.Mary's-Brookville). Pallbearers were grandsons of the deceased.
