John T. McGowan
Funeral services for John T. McGowan, who died Saturday at his home on Hager street, were held at the residence yesterday, followed by services at Salem Evangelical church, Rev. John W. Davis officiating. Interment was in Evergreen cemetery.
Mr. McGowan has been a resident of Barrington for twenty-eight years. He has suffered from tuberculosis for the last nine years.
Mr. McGowan was born at Plymouth, Ind., on August 4, 1882. He married Rose Niemeier of Barrington here on October 4, 1904, and she survives him. In addition there are two children, Kenneth and Curtis, both of whom live here. Mr. McGowan also leaves three sisters--Mrs. Fred Appleman and Mrs. R. D. Van Gilder of Plymouth, Ind., and Mrs. George Willey of South Bend, Ind., and a brother, Jesse R. McGowan of Green Bay, Wis.
Mr. McGowan served for two years as tax collector of Barrington. He was a member of the Mystic Workers fraternal organization.
