Adam was the son of Benjamin Jerome Welch and Harriet Lavina Hudson. He married Maud Stoolman on 17 Oct 1917 at Carroll, Iowa. They were the parents of Estil and Lavon (Jack Brainerd).


June 19, 1951 - Carroll Daily Times - Lake City — Funeral services for Adam Welch, 83, who died at McVay Memorial hospital in Lake City Saturday, June 16, 1951, were held Monday afternoon, June 18, at 2:30 o'clock at the First Baptist church in Lake City with the Rev. Philip R. Anderson officiating. Squires Funeral home was in charge. Mrs. Dean Fleming of Auburn sang accompanied by Miss Hester Crosswait. Pallbearers were Gale Kindred, Dale Subbert, Verle Subbert, Raymond Kelly, Clarence Black, jr., and Melford DeHart. Burial was in East Liberty cemetery in Lidderdale.

Survivors are his wife, Maude Irene Welch of Lake City; one son, Estil, of Winterset; one daughter, Mrs. Jack Brainerd of Auburn; one brother, Ben, of Pierre, S.D.; five sisters, Mrs. Carrie Dickenson of Spirit Lake, Mrs. Hattie Barber of Lakefield, Minn.; Mrs. Kate Snyder of Rockwell City; Mrs. Josie Weber and Mrs. Dolly Wells of Tucson, Ariz., and other relatives.
