Ravy, Nellie (4 July 1872 – 30 Sept. 1954)

Mrs. Ravy, nee Hamblin, was born in Rosendale, Fond du Lac county, on July 4, 1872, thus reaching the age of 82 years, two months and 26 days. She married Walter A. Ravy at Ripon, Wis., on July 8, 1903. The couple lived in Berlin and Ripon for several years and then moved onto a farm north of Curtiss where they lived for 33 years. Her husband died on October 24, 1941. For the past 12 years, Mrs. Ravy made her home with her son, John T. Ravy, in Abbotsford and Colby.

Surviving are two sons, John Ravy of Colby and Henry Ravy of Owen; one daughter, Mrs. Ernest (Marion) Roder of Chippewa Falls; a niece, Ethel Taylor of St. Petersburg, Florida.

Besides her husband, a sister, Ethel, also preceded her in death.

Out of town people here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Ravy of Plainfield, Mr. and Mrs. George Cook of Unity, Mr. and Mrs. Henry House of Owen, Harold House, Mr. and Mrs. Chet Knight, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lueth and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Laper of Abbotsford, Mr. and Mrs. Max Miler, Mrs. Catherine Mitchell and Mrs. Ben Stevens of Oshkosh, Mr. and Mrs. Gust Heimbruck, Mrs. Lottie Jane and Lorin Heimbruck of Manawa, Mrs. Stanley Woods of Wausau, Mr. and Mrs. Irving Gossel, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pudlas, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Herrick, Rinehart Klocke, Mrs. Lee Smiley and Mrs. Alfred Tompson of Curtiss, Mrs. Duwayne Bulgrin of Owen, Mrs. Ed Roder, Mrs. Nick Roder, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Roder, Betty, Ethel, and Richard Roder of Chippewa Falls.

Although ill with cancer the past eight years, Mrs. Ravy kept her cheerful and friendly disposition to the end. She will be remembered by those who knew her best as a person who at all times, under all circumstances, walked the well beaten path of righteousness, and, when fully conscious that she was nearing the last of earth, she appeared to be fully impressed with the idea that at the end of time eternity began, and that the bright faith which sustained her during those trying hours of suffering would only grow brighter and brighter as she journeyed toward the infinite.
