MRS. CATHERINE ZINK DEAD
Heart Disease Claimed Aged Widow, 73--Buried Yesterday
Mrs. Catherine Zink died at her home in the north part of Edina at 12:15 o'clock Tuesday morning from heart disease. She had been ill a week, having been found on the floor at her home Wednesday morning of last week after an attack during the night, since when she became worse. Mrs. Zink, who was 73 years old, had been failing several years.
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Terence Mullins at St. Joseph's Church at 9 o'clock yesterday morning, burial following in the new Catholic cemetery by the grave of her husband.
Mrs. Zink is survived by a sister, Mrs. Mary A. Clote, of northeast of Edina and two brothers, Hugh McMahon of near Edina and Simon McMahon of Lewistown. It is believed there are two brothers in California, the exact whereabouts of whom are not known. A step-son, Joseph Zink, of Idaho also survives.
Mrs. Zink who before marriage was Catherine McMahon, was born near Williamstown, Mo., Jan. 29, 1858, the third of twelve children of James and Johannah McMahon. When a young woman she came to Edina and lived until her marriage five years later with her sister, Mrs. Clote, northeast of Edina.
She married Joseph Zink in St. Joseph's Church June 6, 1897. They had no children, but Mr. Zink, a Civil War veteran who had before married, was the father of the surviving step-son of Mrs. Zink. Mr. Zink died Dec. 13, 1919.
