Sarah "Sally" Beal, eldest child/dau of Manwarren & Lydia (Welch) Beal, in 1780 married Elihu Norton. Together Sarah and Elihu had 9 children: Amy Emma Norton(1781-1860) (m. John H Noyes), Phineas Manwarren Norton (1784-1846)(m. Sarah Kelley (1787-1817), Frances Ella Beal (1797-1828) and Abigail York (1786-1840), William Caesar Norton (1786-1820), Jeremiah Beal Norton (1788-1859)(m. Hannah Sawyer (1788-1846), Joseph Pierpont Norton (1791-1858) (m. Elizabeth K Cummings (1789-1875), Abraham D Norton (1893-1872) (m. Anna Tabbutt (1793-1865), Sarah Norton (1796-1826) (m. Elias Norton Hinkley (1802-1889), Lucy Ann Beal (1800-1871) (m. Elias Norton Hinkley (1802-1889)(m. 1827 - d. 1828) & (William Henry Davis (1793-1863), Frances Beal Vose Norton (1805-1878) (m. Oliver Nash Look (1807-1893). Sarah, daughter of a Patriot, Daughter-in-law of a Patriot, wife of a Patriot, a teenager when British Privateers, ransacked and took all of her families Winter stores, and left her family without food, clothing and survival necessities - survived in unimaginable conditions.
