Daughter of Tom Reid. Second wife of Albert Slaughter.

Mrs. Albert Slaughter, 58, died at her home at Esom Hill Sunday night after an illness of three days. She was born in Cherokee County, Alabama, and moved to Esom Hill four years ago. She was a member of the Salem Baptist Church for 26 years.Survivors include: her husband; four sons, Clarence and Amos Slaughter of Esom Hill; Ralph Slaughter of Cedartown, and Fred Slaughter of Calhoun, Alabama; two daughters, Beatrice Slaughter of Esom Hill and Mrs. Willie Belle Kerr of Walteria, California; two brothers, Jim Reed of Clayburn County, Alabama, and Claud Reed of Guntersville, Alabama; three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Stone of Ragland, Alabama; Mrs. Allen Slaughter of Bluffton, Alabama and Mrs. Annie Lane of Guntersville, Alabama; father, Tom Reed of Esom Hill and five grandchildren.
