Suzanne Holland Wallick, 76, of Bartlesville passed away Sunday, April 17, 2011. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 21, 2011 in the Walker-Brown Chapel with Rev. Wahoo Trottingwolf officiating. Interment will be in White Rose Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Walker-Brown Funeral Home.
Suzanne was born on November 23, 1934 in Bartlesville to Isaac Jackson and Mary Elizabeth (Scharff) Holland. She attended schools in the Bartlesville area and then studied at Independence Junior College for two years. In 1954 she married Edward Allen Allred and they lived and raised a family in Kansas. She worked during this time at the Bynum's Nu-Way Grocery in Wichita. Ed preceded her in death. In 1983 she married Edmund Conrad Wallick and they settled in Independence, Kansas where she worked at Emerson Electric. In 1983 they moved to California and worked as apartment managers in Foster City and spent those years exploring the west coast with friends and family. In 1995 they retired and moved back to Bartlesville. Edmund preceded her in death. Throughout her life Suzanne believed in the healing power of faith, generosity and forgiveness. No matter what life threw her way, she fought for her beliefs and family. Over the years she had been a member of various Baptist congregations. In 2002 she was a spokesperson for Elder Care. She is survived in life by two sons; Edward Allen Allred of Vinita and William Miles Allred and his partner Lawrence Kavanagh of Bartlesville. One daughter, Barbara Irene Wells and her husband Larry Dwayne Wells of Virginia Beach, Virginia. Three grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers; Joe, Duke, Carl Elwood, Vernie Lee and an infant brother. One sister, Mary Elizabeth and a son-in-law, Scott Karl. She will also be missed and loved by her extended family of nieces, nephews and longtime friends.
