Inventor. Born in Hammerdal, a province of Jämtland, he was a Swedish inventor and industrialist and founded a factory in Stockholm, where he manufactured agriculture and farm equipment of his own design. In 1873, Palmcrantz patented the multi-barrel, lever-actuated machine gun which would become known as the Nordenfelt. Under the Nordenfelt brand, his weapon invention was made in different calibers and distributed for military use world wide. After his death at age 38, Nordenfelt continued to develop and manufacture his guns in England, Sweden and Spain.
