Sylvia "Nute or Newt" Hollenberger, 95, of Cassville, Wisconsin died Monday afternoon, September 9, 1996, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, South Lancaster Township.

She was born on January 21, 1901 in the parlor of Governor Nelson Dewey's home in Cassville, Wisconsin, daughter of Julius and Jennie (Emler) Schumacher. She married Herman C. Hollenberger on June 30, 1923 in Dubuque, Iowa. He died on January 11, 1981.

She enjoyed her family very much, and as a pastime loved to tat.

Surviving are three daughters, Betty (Bob) Cammack, of Cassville, Wisconsin, Phyllis (Bob) Bither of Redding, California, and Marilyn (Tom) Bell of Napa, California; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Esther Kemp, of Kingman, Arizona, and two brothers, Robert Schumacher of Nashua, Montana and Ulysses Schumacher of American Canyon, California. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Julius John Schumacher and Jennie (Emler) Schumacher, sister Alberta Morton, brothers Valorous Schumacher, Melvin Schumacher and Lester Schumacher.
