Peter and wife Anna (Kaul) Paar were the progenitors of one of the PAAR families in the United States. The family immigrated in 1857 on the Josephine and went almost immediately to Galena, Illinois where they made a living as tailors. Members of this family are spread as far as Iowa, Tennessee, California and Texas.
