Mrs. Bernice Smithey Palmer Todd, 80, of Dalton, passed away Thursday March 31, 2011.
She was the daughter of the late James and Lindey Long Smithy and was preceded in death by her first husband, Harland Palmer; brothers and sisters, Frank Smithy, James Smithey Jr, Ralph Smithey, Bill Smithey, Mildred Lord, Pearline Shaw and Edna Reeves.
Bernice was a member of Grove Level Baptist Church and loved to watch the Atlanta Braves.
She is survived by her husband, James Todd
of Dalton; daughter and son-in-law, Kay and
Ron Ownby of Dalton; Stepson, James D. Todd
of Dalton; grandson, Jeff Ownby and wife Sandi of Dalton; great-granddaughter Lilli Ownby; sisters and brother-in-law, Betty Jo Pierce, Jean Ault and Pat and David Stamey, all of Dalton, brother, Marshall Smithey of Calhoun; nieces and nephews.
Services are Saturday at 2 p.m. in the chapel
of Love Funeral Home, with Dr. Charlie Bridges
officiating.
Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
Love Funeral Home is in charge of arrangemants.
