He was appointed 16 Feb 1776, ensign, serving in Captain Benjamin Hicks and Joseph McCracken's companies, in Col Goose Van Schaick's New York Regiment, and served until 29 April 1778. He was in the battle of Monmouth. He obtained a pension 4 September 1832, while living in Pittstown, NY.
