Christened as 'Andreas', Andrew went by the Anglicized version of his name for most of his life.

The 1900 census lists his occupation as a manager at the telephone company, and the subsequent two show him as an electrician for that utility. For many years, he owned his own home at 843 Buffum Street; by the 1920 census he owned at 2826 Wright Street.

He and Elinor had two children, both born in Milwaukee:

Erwin Henry (May 6, 1890)
Hilda C. (March 15, 1894)

Another child, 'Elinor Bornheimer', appears in the census records, born about 1915. At first, I believed her to be a very late daughter of Andrew & Elinor's, but on the 1920 census she is clearly listed as their grand-daughter, 'Elinor Jr.'

Andrew, a widower two years previously, can be found on the 1930 census along with the 15 year-old 'Elinor Jr.', living in the household of Carl F. & Hilda Garney, his eldest daughter and son-in-law, retired at last.

Mystery solved! Located the un-dated WWI Draft card for Erwin Henry Bornheimer which states he was a widower in 1917-1918 and had one child as a dependent, so 'Elinor Jr.' is the daughter of Erwin. Now, to find Erwin...
