FUNERAL SERVICES HELD SUNDAY FOR O.B. WOOD

Funeral services for Oscar B. Wood Sr., 76, of Fort Worth, a former Mart resident were held at the First Baptist church of Mart, Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock. Rev. D.D. Segar, pastor, conducted the service. Interment was made in Mart cemetery. Mr. Wood was born Nov. 26, 1870 at Point Enterprise, Tex. and was married to Miss Annie Harthcock in 1892. To this union four children were born. Mrs.Wood passed away in 1926. In 1929 he was married to Mrs. Dora Leddon of Mart and they made their home here until 1939. At that time they moved to Fort Worth where they resided until the time of his death, July 27. Deceased had been a member of the Baptist church since 18 years of age and had many friends here who regretted to learn of his passing. He is survived by his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Nora McElroy, Mexia; Mrs. Mary Belle Seward, Albuquerque, NM; two sons, Floyd Wood, O.B. Wood, Jr. of Menard, Texas; and a brother,Verner C Wood, Mexia, besides nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
