Edison - Joseph Horvath of Meeker Avenue died Tuesday at Bridgeway Convalescent Center, Bridgewater.
He was a lifelong resident of Edison.
Before retiring 20 years ago, Mr. Horvath wa a security guard at the former Camp Kilner, Edison.
He was the first elected captiain of the Edison Volunteer Fire Co and was one of the founders of th Raritan River Boat Club, Edison.
He served in the Navy during the 1920's.
His wife, Hazel May Demarest Horvath died in 1970.
Surviving are a son, William J of Whitehouse Station; a duaghterJoAnn Urytzki of Piscataway; three sisters Ann Schuyler and Helen Demarest, both of Highland Park and Mary Meishied of Santa Monica, Ca and six grandchildren.
Services will be 10am tomorrow at Gowen Funeral Home, 233 Somerset St, New Bunswick with the Rev Joseph G Bodnar officiating.
Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, North Brunwick.
