We lost Gypsy on Tuesday the 11th of December, 2007. She passed away after a severe Colic episode.
For those not familiar with the term, Colic is a word we use to describe symptoms related to gastro intestinal dysfunction. There are many types of Colic. Some are mild and resolve with medical therapy, and some are severe - causing death or requiring major emergency surgery.
She was one of my best teachers, not only in equine relationships, but in life. I believe that her last few years here at the Sanctuary were her happiest times. I'm glad that she spent her last few months living in our beautiful canyon, loving life and being free to do pretty much whatever she pleased.
Thank you to all of you who have supported and cared about Gypsy. She was special, and it makes me feel better to know that so many of you loved her and knew her story. She will not go unremembered.
