Pauline Hembrough Goheen, 84, of South Jacksonville died Friday, Nov. 1, 2002 at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville. She was born July 29, 1918, near Pisgah, the daughter of Earl Raymond and Emma Henry Hembrough. She married Robert H. Goheen in 1936 in Beardstown; he died in 1980. An infant son, Thomas Robert Goheen, also preceded her in death. Mrs. Goheen was a longtime educator, teaching fourth grade and high school mathematics at O'Fallon. She was a graduate of Jacksonville High School and attended MacMurray College for two years. She later returned to MacMurray and received her bachelor's degree in 1963. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, DAR, and the YMCA. Survivors: two daughters, Ruth (husband, Roger) McClintock of South Jacksonville and Velma (husband, Roger) Finnern of Tempe, Ariz.; a son, Richard (wife, Patricia) Goheen of Benton, Ark.; nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Services: 2 p.m. Sunday, Williamson Funeral Home. Burial: Asbury Cemetery.
