A brief service for the family will be held from The Little Chapel at 1 p.m. immediately preceding the church service.
Rev. Harry Brouwer will officiate at the services and will be assisted by Rev. John Roggen. Interment will be made in the Sioux Center Community cemetery under the direction of the de Bruyn Funeral Home.
Mr. Achterhof was born near Orange City November 25, 1890, the son of Lutje Achterhof and Jane Schoenvelt, pioneer residents. He had been a Sioux Center resident nearly all his life. He operated an automotive implement agency here 25 years before going into sales work for 10 years. He retired about two years ago.
He was united in marriage to Maggie Van Kley December 24, 1913 at Sioux Center. He was a member of First Reformed church.
Survivors include his widow; three sons, Lawrence and Floyd, both of Sioux Center, and Eugene of Windsor, Conn.; nine grandchildren; one brother, Louis of Rock Valley; and two sisters, Mrs. Albert Mulder of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Mrs. William Van Kley of Jenison, Mich.
Preceding him in death were a daughter, Florence, who died in infancy; his parents, a brother, Bert, and a sister, Mrs. John Bartels.
