Edmund Wojtyla was born on 27 July 1906 in Krakow.
He passed the examination for the secondary-school certificate 12 June 1924 in Wadowice.
Between 1924 and 1930 he studied medicine at the Medical Faculty of Jagiellonian University in Kraków.
28 may 1930 he graduated in medicine and next year he began work as a physician in the State Hospital in Bielsko.
He caught scarlet fever from a female patient and died on 4 December 1932.
Buried first in Bielsko, at present in Krakow, at Rakowicki Cemetery, on the family grave with his parents.
