Funeral services were held at the Wm. Van Kley residence and at the 2nd Christian Reformed Church, Rev. O. Breen officiating, on July 3rd. The remains were laid to rest in the Sioux Center cemetery.
His wife preceded him in death nine years ago. They had been married fifty one years. A daughter, Mrs. John Bartels, died five years ago.
He made his home with his children since the death of his wife, the last five years at the Wm. Van Kley home.
Surviving him are three sons, and two daughters: Ralph and Louis Achterhof of Rock Valley, Mrs. A. P. Mulder and Bert Achterhof of Grand Rapids, and Mrs. Wm. Van Kley of Sioux Center. There are twenty-two grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren also surviving.
