TREMONTON — Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Afton Smith Larsen, 88, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2006, at the Bear River Valley Care Center. She was born Sept. 7, 1917, to William and Susie Hamp Smith in Grace, Idaho. She married Leo C. Larsen on June 16, 1937, in Logan. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple in June 1965.

She enjoyed being with her family and having family get-togethers, cooking, baking and quilt-making. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as Relief Society president, Sunday School teacher and Young Women leader.

Surviving are her children, Marli (Dale) Nebeker of Bountiful, Steve (Christen) Larsen of Beaver Dam, Julie (Jeff) Wood of Fielding and Kathy (Lyle) Holmgren of Tremonton; 24 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Gwen Byngton of Colorado.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and one sister.

Services will be held at noon on Monday, June 12, at Beaver Ward chapel, 16025 N. Beaver Dam Road, Beaver Dam, with Bishop Randy Bowcutt officiating.

Interment will be at Beaver Dam Cemetery.
