Helen Durette Summerlin, age 91, a native and longtime resident of Mon Luis Island, AL passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Freddie P. Summerlin. She is survived by two brothers, Charles Durette, Claude (Anne) Durette, four sisters, Isabella Summerlin, Bertina McIntyre, Madrine Buck, Leonine (Norman) Horton, two godchildren, one devoted niece/God-child, Joyce S. Wolfe, other nieces, nephews, other rela-tives and friends. The family wishes to express our love and appreciation to Mrs. Karen (Bellknap) Walker, R.N. and her assistants of "Our Mature Southern Living" her extended family, for their love and special care during her residency. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thurs-day, May 5, 2011 at 12 noon from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Visitation will be 11 A.M. until service time Thursday at the church.
