Mrs. Black, 71 years old, died Thursday at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Aug. 12, 1919, in Shirley, Ark., the daughter of Martin and Dovie Shelton Williams. She married Dick Black Sept. 19, 1936.
She worked in the packing department at Oran Hat Factory, retiring in 1968.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Darrell Black Jr.; a daughter, Wanda McMackins; a brother, George Williams; two sisters, Bethel Bowman and Bessie Schallick; three grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and four great-step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son and two brothers.
