LETHEL CROFT FOUND DEAD
Yesterday morning about 8 o'clock the dead body of Lethel Croft was discovered by John Strange and Sheriff Black in the back yard of the Bank saloon premises. The body was taken to the city council room in care of Chas. Day and J.S. Smith. A coronor's inquest was called and held about 10:30 by Justice Jackson. Jas. A. Kelly, J.S. Giles and Abe Carling were sworn in as jurors and after a careful examination of circumstances and condition of the body, it was decided the cause of death was epilepsy and that Mr. Croft had evidently died quite early on the previous evening. Among the articles found on his person was a receipt from the Mutual Life Insurance Company for a recent premium paid on a policy of $1,000. The relatives of the deceased, who reside at Deseret, were immediately notified by Sheriff Black.

The funeral services over the remains of Lethel Croft of Deseret were held in the City Hall last Saturday at 10 a.m. Bishop F.H. Partridge presided at the services. The school choir furnished the singing. The opening prayer was offered by Elder P.L. Brunson. The speakers were Elders Christian Anderson and John Cooper and benediction was pronounced by Elder Lewis B. Smith of the bishopric.
The deceased was a young man whose parents and grandparents used to reside in Fillmore, being a son of George Croft and Letitia Davis, and a grandson of the late Jacob Croft. His young wife, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.B. Bushnell of Meadow, preceded him some time ago and his parents had both died many years ago, when he was a small child. It appears that the deceased was subject to epileptic fits and that he so came by his death.
