History - George and his parents moved to Texas when he was a small boy. His mother and sister were killed in a fall from a horse when he was six years old.
He was baptized in 1855 and came to the Valley later with his father. He helped his father haul rock for the Salt Lake Temple and also helped build the fort in Deseret.
He was a miller in Fillmore and a stockman in Fillmore and Deseret. He was a sheriff, and later a contractor on the railroad up Parleys Canyon.
He served a mission in Britain in 1882. He died of cancer of the liver.
