Maxine was highly thought of by her family and many friends in the community of Ellsworth. In 1910, Maxine and a friend took the train to Colorado Springs, CO and in her words "climbed Pikes Peak to see the sunrise."
On April 12, 1912 she was married to Charles March of Ellsworth at the St. Bernard's Catholic Rectory. Two daughters were born to this marriage, Margaret March Hlaus and Genevieve March Livingston. The family lived on the John March family homestead farm northeast of Ellsworth until March of 1944 when the couple retired and moved into Ellsworth.
Maxine was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Ellsworth. She belonged to the Dorcas Society and in addition was a charter member of both the St. Bernard's Altar Society and the HDU.
Maxine died at the age of 88 in Ellsworth on August 19, 1968.
