Gary Lee Thomas, age 56 of Yorkville, IL passed away on Friday, May 06, 2011 at Central DuPage Hospital in Wheaton, IL. He was born on June 24, 1954 in Aurora, IL the son of John and Joan (Graf) Thomas. Gary was united in marriage on February 9, 1985 to the former Miss Patricia Perkins in Yorkville, IL and they spent the next 7 happy years together until her passing on February 2, 1992 He was a 1972 graduate of Marmion Academy in Aurora, IL and a 1976 graduate of the University of Illinois in Urbana, IL. Mr. Thomas was a member of the Yorkville Congregational United Church of Christ in Yorkville, IL. Mr. Thomas was employed, for nearly 30 years, as an Accountant with Nicor Gas in Naperville, IL. Gary was a loving husband, father, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by both family and friends. He is survived by his sons, John Thomas of St. Charles, IL and David Thomas of Yorkville, IL; his brother, John (Nancy) Thomas of Chicago, IL; his sister, Barbara (Joe) Seidelman of Aurora, IL; his father and mother-in-law, Dale and Ethel Perkins of Yorkville, IL; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Joan Thomas; and his wife, Patty Thomas. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 410 E. Countryside Pkwy in Yorkville, IL with Reverend Mark Gregory, officiating. Interment will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery in Yorkville, IL.
