Virginia was born a set of twins to John Frank and Catherine Josephine Conklin - in Newark, New Jersey. She grew up in Newark. She met her husband, Andrew Abshire. There love was an amazing love. Not long after marring Andrew he went off to war - while she stayed back in the states and had their first child. He was overseas for 36 months.
After he returned from the war they settled in Karlin, Michigan, in a home they built together. They worked hard together and loved each other. They had a total of six children before Andrew unexpectedly died at the young age of 53.
Virginia never forgot the love she had for Andrew. For almost 42 years she continued to raise her children and had a key role in raising her Grandchildren. She was a beacon of love - the guiding light in her family. During that time she still loved Andrew and awaited the day she could join him again.
Virginia also had a very strong faith in God - one that she shared with her children and Grandchildren. She always knew God would take care of her. She will be greatly missed.
