Death of Lyman A. Lyon
Lyman A. Lyon died at his home, in this city, on Wednesday, Aug. 14th, after an illness of several Weeks, during which he suffered greatly. He was 77 years old on May 24th last.
He was born in Walworth, N.Y. When a young man he came to Michigan, and in 1847 was married to Miss Mary A. Fenton, who survives him. To them were born two children, George, who resides in this city, and Mrs. Augusta Smith, of San Francisco, Cal., who was unable to be with her father during his last illness, or to attend the funeral.
Mr Lyon has always been an acitve man, for many years dealing in patent rights, principally in a fanning mill, of which he was the patentee.
The funeral will be from the home in which for thirty-six years the family has resided, this (Friday) afternoon, at 2:30 o'clock.
