Bridgewater MA about 1841; removed to Pleasant Hill (later Selma), Lexington township, McLean County IL from MA in the spring of 1854, a year corresponding with the time that his brother-in-law, Ebenezer Paul, disposed of the larger part of his (Ebenezer's) father's estate; most likely George's mother-in-law, Martha Crane Paul, came with them to IL along with brother-in-law, Samuel Paul; started farming 1877 in section 21, Lexington township with 180 acres; elected justice of the peace 1772 to at least 1879; Elder of Selma (Mackinaw) Presbyterian church and clerk of Session almost 40 years; co-founder and librarian of the local library; school treasurer for 17 years; died at home in Selma of neuralgia of the heart.
