Howard W. Barker, 70, of 1029 Buena Vist (sic) Street, Washington, died at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, February 20, 1977, in his home after a long illness.

He was born October 14, 1906, in East Finley Township (sic), a son of Sophia Jane Sprowls Barker, of Washington, who survives, and the late Frank T. Barker.

Employed for 48 years as a millwright by the Jessop Steel Company, he retired in 1970.

He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 22, the Jessop Employes Club and the Anawanna Hunting and Fishing Club.

On October 11, 1929, he married Anna Duri, who survives along with his mother and one daughter, Shirley, wife of Raymond Davis of Washington R.D.6; a step-daughter (sic), Trudy Klepsic of Washington; three brothers, Arthur S. of Washington, and Stanley I. and Donald F., both of Toledo, Ohio; two sisters, Goldie, wife of George Vitteck of Washington and Sylvia Jamison, also of Washington; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A brother, Elzie B., is deceased.

BARKER - Friends of Howard W. Barker of 1029 Buena Vista Street, Washington, who died Sunday, February 20, 1977, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Robert E. and Thomas W. Hummell Funeral Home, 585 Fayette Street, where services will be held at 11 am (sic) a.m. Wednesday, February 23, in charge of the Rev. John M. Leggett. Burial in Washington Cemetery.
