Arthur Stewart Barker Sr. of 78 Hayes Avenue, Washington, died Thursday, October 1, 1987, at 7:05 a.m. at Washington Hospital.
He was born February 5, 1909, in Greene County, a son of Frank and Sophia Sprowls Barker.
Before his retirement in 1972 after 47 years of service, he was employed by Jessop Steel Company in the bar mill. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #22, Legion of the Moose, Jessop Club, Anawana Hunting and Fishing Club of Amity, and a social member of the VFW Post 927 of Washington.
On November 20, 1926, in Washington, he married Thelma A. Carroll who survives. Also surviving are: two brothers, Stanley and Donald Barker, both of Toledo, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. Sylvia Jamison of Washington; two grandchildren, Thomas and Robert Barker; three great-grandchildren, A.J., Lacey, and Bobbie Jo Barker. One son, Arthur S. Barker Jr., two brothers Elzie and Howard Barker, and a sister, Goldie Vitteck are deceased.

Malcolm Brown officiating. Interment in Washington Cemetery. LOOM Lodge #22 will conduct services in the funeral home Friday at 8 p.m.
