Mrs. Katherine S. McCarthy, 73, of Volney Center, died Tuesday afternoon at Syracuse General Hospital following an illness of several weeks.

Mrs. McCarthy was born at Parish. She married Charles Presley 37 years ago and was wed to Harold McCarthy 35 years ago in Detroit, Mich. She had been a resident of Volney center for the last 28 years.

Surviving are her husband, Harold McCarthy; six sons, Lyle Presley of Syracuse, Earl Presley of Arizona, Ray Presley of Pulaski, Glenn Presley, Carl Presley of Granby Center, and Ted McCarthy of Volney; three daughters, Mrs. Pearl Robbins of Watertown, Mrs. A.W. Burt of Oneida, and Mrs. C.L. Kennig of Syracuse. 21 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; a sister Mrs. Harold Cook of Watertown, and a brother, Clinton Sampson.

Burial will be at Mt. Adnah Cemetery.
