Charles Ritchey Templeton was one of four children (I am aware of) borne to James Ramsey Templeton (1832-1899) and Margaret {Ritchey} Templeton (1835-1874) on their donation land claim near Brownsville, Linn County, Oregon on June 30th, 1859. He had an older brother, William Henry, who would choose to be a farmer. He also had a younger brother, Jay S. Templeton, b.1867.
