Alfredo Arredondo Gutierrez, 17, of Sunnyside died Friday. Mr. Gutierrez was born in Prosser. He was a junior at Sunnyside High School.

Survivors include his father, Alfredo Arredondo; his mother, Leonora Gutierrez; a sister, Yesenia Arredondo; a brother, Luis Valencia; and his grandmothers, Marcela Gutierrez and Silvia Yanez.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, with recitation of the rosary at 6 p.m., at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Mass of Christian burial will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Church in Sunnyside. Burial will follow in Lower Valley Memorial Gardens.

Alfredo Arredondo, 17, of Sunnyside passed away on Friday, May 20, 2011.

He was born April 7, 1994 in Prosser to Alfredo Arredondo and Leonora Gutierrez.

He was raised in Sunnyside. He was a junior at Sunnyside High School, where he loved to play sports, such as basketball, soccer and football.

He was a social and very friendly person. He loved making people laugh. Some of his favorite things to do was going camping with the family and spending a lot of time with his friends.

Freddy had a big heart and knew how to love his family, especially his mother Leonora.

He will always be missed and will never be forgotten.

He is survived by his parents, Alfredo and Leonora Arredondo; two siblings, Yesenia Arredondo and Luis Valencia; two grandmothers, Marcela Gutierrez and Silvina Yanez; eight aunts, Chayo (Jose) Sandoval, Chuya (Moises) Hernandez, Lina Gutierreez, Leticia Gutierrez, Araceli Gastelum, Irma Gutierrez, Claudia (Juan Luis) Pascual, Diana (Nery) Tellez; numerous cousins, Isai, Ramon, Abraham Hernandez, Jesus and Carlos Gastelum, Ulysses Gutierrez, Ramiro, Cristian and Lizeth Valencia, Amishadai and Genesis Sandoval, Edgar, Jashua, Yahir and Amiel Pascual.

Visitation will be held today, May 23, 2011, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. with recitation of the Holy Rosary to be recited at 6 p.m. at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, May 25 2011, at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sunnyside, with burial to follow at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside.
