He was born February 14, 1899 in Gallatin County, a son to Katherine and Alfred Sales. He attended Gallatin County Schools and has ranched in the Gallatin Valley his entire adult life.
Sales married Mary Curtis August 1, 1923, in Bozeman.
Survivors include his wife of Bozeman; three daughters, Mrs. Bill (Ethel) Ford of Bozeman; Mrs. E.K. (Margaret) Hudson of Great Falls and Mrs. Percy (Dorothy) Gates of Bozeman; one son, Bill Sales of Bozeman; nine grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Dokken-Nelson Sunset Chapel. Burial will be at the Meadowview Cemetery in Manhattan.
