Susan Virginia Perkins, daughter of Dr. L. R. and Mary E. Perkins, was born near Keytesville, Mo., August 14 1857 and departed this life Nov. 27, 1936. she was united in marriage to J. C. Moore, February 3, 1976 (sic) To this union ten children were born, three of whom preceded her in death. At an early age she united with the New Hope Baptist church and lived a true Christian Church life.
She was a devoted wife, mother and neighbor, always willing to help others in every way she could. To know her was to love her.
She leaves to mourn her passing her devoted companion and seven children, namely: Mrs. Lola Courtney, Lincoln, Mo.; Mrs. Julia Rains, Chicago, Ill.; John D. Moore, Portland, Oregon; Homer B. Moore, Macedonia, Iowa; Zack T. Moore, Mrs. Daisy O'Bryan, Mrs. Elizabeth Carr, all of Keytesville, also twenty grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 3 sisters, 2 brothers, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at the Keytesville Baptist Church by the pastor, Rev. Vertio Dameron. Interment was in Asbury cemetery.
