Deceased was born in Berks county Pennsylvania, near Reading on August 18, 1822. She married Daniel Siegfried in that state and forty-seven years ago moved here and lived in and about this town and Cambria as long as she kept house.
Siegfried died seven years ago, since when Mrs. Siegfried lived alone except that lately her daughter, Mrs. Emma Kuhns took care of her. Some seven weeks ago the two ladies moved over to Frankfort to the home of the youngest daughter, Mrs. Joseph Heimberger.
There are children living as follows. Mrs. Thomas Knerr of this place; Mrs. Sarah Entrekin, Frankfort, Mrs. William Watson, Cambria, Mrs. Emma Kuhns and Mrs. Joseph Heimberger, Frankfort; Daniel, in Denver, Colorado, and David in Cambria. Beside these she leaves of descendants, twenty-seven grandchildren and forty-nine great-grandchildren. She was a devoutly Christian woman, and a consistent member of the German Reformed church. The funeral services were a little out of the usual in that short services were held at the Heimberger home in Fort on Wednesday evening; the body was then brought to this place on the 8:37 train yesterday morning and services were held at the Methodist church, Rev. D. B. Shuey of the Mulberry Reformed church officiating, and interment followed at the Rossville cemetery.
Grandma Siegfried was highly esteemed in this neighborhood where she lived so long. She was one of those good, old-fashioned mothers.
