The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Frederick Brothers Funeral Home, with Rev. Albert Cameron, pastor of the United Methodist Church, officiating. There will be a spring burial in the Evans Mills Cemetery.
Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. Donations may be made in Mr. Cooke's name to charity.
Mr. Cooke is survived by his wife Dorothy; a son Donald, Evans Mills; a daughter, Mrs. Eugene (Judy) Eiss, Turin; a foster son, Alfred (Muz) Petranchuk, Evans Mills; 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. George (Minnie) Henderson, Philadelphia, and several nieces and nephews.
A brother Richard died this morning at the House of
the Good Samaritan.
Mr. Cooke was born at Theresa on Oct. 2, 1906, one of eight children of the late Thomas and Amanda Orr Cooke. He was educated in local schools. On Jan. 19, 1933, he and Dorothy Smith of Theresa were married.
The couple moved to the Dutch Settlement Road home where they lived all of their married lives.
Mr. Cooke owned and operated a dairy farm there and was a silo construction contractor and owner and operator of Cooke Sand and Gravel Pit, Spragueville.
He was a communicant of St. Andrew's Church and a member of Pisgah Lodge 720 F & AM
