Stella Marie Bonaros, born to John and Mary Brachetto Piccardi on July 5, 1918, in Alderson, Oklahoma, passed away on May 11, 2013 in Corsicana, Texas, at the age of 94. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Joe Piccardi, sister Rena Lester, and her husband of 50 plus years, Jim Bonaros.
After graduating from McAlester High School in 1936, she moved with her parents to Chicago, Illinois, where she worked for her brother as a waitress. It was there that she met Jim Bonaros. They married in August 1940 in Chicago and were blessed with the birth of three daughters.
In 1950 this young family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. They were one of the founding families of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and remained faithful members for over 50 years. She was a longtime member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas.
Stella worked for many years in retail sales and retired from Sears, Roebuck. After retirement she volunteered weekly with Meals on Wheels.
She moved to Arlington, Texas in 2001 to be near her family then later moved on to Corsicana, Texas.
She is survived by daughters Barbara (and husband Jerry) Osborne of Grand Prairie, TX, Marge (and husband Jim) Oslick of Corsicana, TX, and Mary (and husband John) Rhyne of Ponca City, OK; grandchildren Steve Osborne, Phil Osborne, Amy Osborne, Matt and Mary Ellen Oslick, Laura Oslick and Tom Rhyne; and great-grandchildren Stephanie Osborne and James Oslick.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Noon until 5:00 p.m., and Rosary will be Tuesday, 7:00 p.m., both at Fitzgerald Ivy Chapel, 1402 South Boulder Avenue, Tulsa. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, 10:00 a.m., at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 1419 North 67th East Avenue, Tulsa, with interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
