Lawrence (Larry) Lee White, Sr. died at his home in Colorado Springs on May 22. He passed away gently in his sleep of natural causes. Larry was born March 12, 1920 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the son of Eugene and Jessie White. He graduated from St. Thomas Military Academy in 1937, from St. Thomas College with a B.S. in chemistry in 1941, and a B.S. in Engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology in 1948. In 1941, Larry joined the Army Air Corps to serve as a B-25 pilot over North Africa and Sicily during World War II. He served his country for 22 years as a command pilot, flight instructor, scientist and computer engineer. Lieutenant Colonel White retired from the Air Force in 1963. He then worked at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland until his retirement in 1986 as the Deputy Director of Computer Services. For 68 years Marjorie (Jean) Davis White, his "beautiful, loving, caring, and understanding" wife, was by his side. She survives him along with his sisters, Mary Jane and Dorothy, and his brother, John. He joins his sister, Stella, and his brothers, William and Richard, in their rest. Larry was the proud father of six children: Lawrence Lee, Jr. (Mary Victoria) White of Missoula, MT; Barbara (James) Mulrooney of Mendota Heights, MN; Robert E. (Mary Ellen) White of Colorado Springs; Mary Louise White (Henry Streiffer) of Beverly Shores, IN; James M. (Susan) White of La Conner, WA; and Thomas R. (Valerie) White of Eldersburg, MD. As he once wrote, life after retirement was "totally enjoyable," due to the time he spent with his children, 23 grandchildren, and 32 great-grandchildren. In his last letter to his loved ones, he wrote, "Rejoice with me, I have had a wonderful life and anticipate a more glorious future. What a lucky guy I am!" A memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 7th at 11 AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 3122 Poinsetta Drive in Colorado Springs. He donated his body to the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, and his interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his name to Catholic Relief Services, P.O. Box 17090, Baltimore, MD, 21203-7090.

Looks like they changed plans on cemeteries. After his wife died in 2014 they ended up in Arlington National Cemetery; FAG# 135106161 & FAG# 135106184 placed on: 03 Sep 2014.
